Guide to caring for your silk

  • Hand wash using mild detergent or dry clean.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Iron on low setting if required
  • Do not soak, wring, boil or dry in direct sunlight.

100% natural silk satin is a delicate and luxurious fabric, always handle with loving care. Dry cleaning silk is only a recommendation but it is best to gently hand wash if you want to wash silk at home.

Use lukewarm or cold water and add a mild detergent (as they don’t contain bleaching agents) for delicates in a basin or bowl. Soak the garment only for a few minutes, then agitate the item in the water, and plunge in and out of the water gently to remove any dirt.

Rinse in cold water until it runs clear and all the soap has been washed out. Absorb the excess water with a towel but do not rub or twist the item, just blot gently. Hang to dry away from direct sunlight.

Iron on a low setting if required, also protect the silk with a cloth before going over with an iron.
